Goal of the Month: The “Dead Stop” Challenge
The Mission: Master distance control to leave every long putt within your 3-foot “Safety Zone.”
Last month, we locked in those 3-footers. This month, we make sure you actually get to use that skill. The biggest score-killer isn’t a missed birdie; it’s the three-putt that comes from a poor first lag.
Your Weekly Drills:
- The Fringe-to-Fringe Feel: On the practice green, putt from one edge to the other without a hole. Focus purely on the speed and roll of the ball rather than the line.
- The One-Handed Lag: Practice 30-foot putts using only your dominant hand. This builds a natural “feel” for the weight of the putter and the distance required.
- The 3-6-9 Ladder: Place tees at 10, 20, and 30 feet. Your goal is to land two balls from each distance within a 3-foot radius of the hole.
